Sarita Ore Quispe

Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. I was a visiting scholar at Princeton University (2023–2025), and I am currently a research fellow at the Inter-American Development Bank’s Research Department.

I am an applied development economist working at the intersection of governance and human capital, with a focus on education, health, and crime. My research studies how governments can support human capital investment and how violence and insecurity undermine it. I work closely with governments to design and evaluate large-scale field experiments, and I build linked administrative datasets that follow individuals across education, health, and social protection systems. My work spans Peru, Colombia, and Mozambique.

I am on the 2026–2027 job market.
